The recipes I’m sharing here are what we cook at home, as prepared by mamas ,lolas (grandmas) and home cooks everywhere. It’s  the food we put on our table to feed our family day after day and what we prepare on special occasions. It’s the food we make to nourish, to heal the hurt, to solve our problems and to celebrate the joys of our lives.

It reflects where I come from(a small town in the Philippines;husband from Iran), where we live (south of Sydney), and where we’ve travelled.

‘I’m a nomad at heart and I’ve been privileged to experience and taste the food of amazing places I’ve visited. I love trying out new dishes and then recreating and reimagining them when  I come home. It is no wonder that some of the best memories I have of travelling are about the local cuisines I’ve tried. For sure there were some I didn’t like but I still thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

I regret not teaching my children how to cook when they were growing up( I was busy being a mum and they were busy with something else) but I hope I gave them the attitude of being open to new tastes. Better late than never, this blog is also my way  of showing them how to cook their favourites now that they have their own family.
